Step 1: Powering up the device |

As per the below diagram, press down the silver button on the top of the device for a couple of seconds. You should see a light on the front of the device which indicates it is powering up |

Step 2: Connecting to the Wifi network |

From the desktop, select the circle WLAN icon which should be in the bottom right corner of the screen |

Select the ‘Config’ option from the tabs along the bottom of the screen |

|
Select ‘scan’ to search for available WiFi networks |

|
Once you have selected the correct WiFi network, enter the required credentials to connect and select 'OK' |

From the list, check the check box next to the WiFi account you have created / would like to connect to. Then highlight the account so that it is blue |

Then select ‘Activate’ |

The device should now be connected to the WiFi network. Confirmation that the device has connected successfully is also shown with a green circle icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen |

Step 3: Connecting to the Matcher Service |

From the home screen, select the Windows icon And then select the ‘Matcher Handheld’ icon to load up the Matcher application |

|
When the Matcher application has loaded up, select the 'settings' icon in the top right corner |

Select ‘Add Server’ |

You will now need to enter the details of the server that you are connecting to: Name: Server Name Server: Server IP Address Port: This is always ‘9563’ Once you have inputted the details, select ‘Done’, and you should see the server details entered into the server list |

Select ‘Done’ again to return to the initial Matcher Logon screen. It should now present you with the Matcher server name in the Server box The background colour of the server box gives an indication of whether the handheld can connect to the database: YELLOW BACKGROUND = No Connection. The Matcher Service will usually need to be started from a tablet/PC hosting the Service PURPLE BACKGROUND = No Connection. Check the server details and that the WiFi is connected BLUE/CLEAR BACKGROUND = Valid Connection. You should be able to logon to the Matcher application |

Step 4: Troubleshooting: Starting the Matcher Service |

If the background colour of the Server box is not blue, or you cannot log into Matcher, you may need to start the Matcher Service. Once you have found details of the location of the Matcher Service, you will need to logon to that particular machine, and then from the desktop type ‘Services’ into the start/search bar which should present you with this icon |

Once the Services page is displayed, you will need to scroll down to the entry which says ‘Matcher Service’ |

The first time that the Matcher Service is loaded, you may need to configure the settings. To do this, right click and select ‘Properties’. Once the screen has loaded, from the ‘Startup Types’ drop-down, select ‘Automatic (Delayed Start), and then select ‘Apply’ |

Then select on the ‘Start’ icon to start the Service |

If the Service then does not start and presents an error, this is probably due to incorrect permissions. To solve this, select the ‘Log On’ tab from the properties dialogue box |

You may then need to enter the Matcher User Group credentials and then click on 'OK' which will then give the Service permission to start |

|
The background screen of the Matcher application 'Server' field should how have changed to Blue, and so you should be able to logon with your Matcher User credentials |
